Ontario police report that a man is facing a careless driving charge after allegedly trying to solve a newspaper puzzle while behind the wheel.
Investigators said that an officer noticed a man with a newspaper on the steering wheel of his Ford F-150 around 9:45 a.m. Wednesday on Highway 401 in Chatham-Kent.
The man was so engrossed in his newspaper puzzle that it took him more than a minute to realize he was being pulled over, police said.
The driver, Daniel Irons of St. Thomas, Ontario, was charged with a count of careless driving.
