When a Florida woman declined to give a panhandler money, the man exposed his genitals and told her to, “Kiss it.”
There were a number of 911 calls to report a shirtless man with a dog panhandling in Fort Pierce. Another person said that the man was beating the hood of his vehicle.
A Fort Pierce Police officer arrived and discovered Christian Wilcox, 27 at the time, holding a composition notebook with “Spare a Dollar” written in large print. He also had a money belt with change and $1 bills.
A witness told police he watched a man approach cars and ask for money. He saw the man punch the window of one vehicle when the motorist declined to provide financial aid.
A worker at a nearby truck stop said she’d gotten complaints about an “aggressive panhandler.”
She said she saw the man doing jumping jacks in the road, obstructing traffic, the affidavit states.
The man collected cash from a number of cars, she told police. After one driver refused to fork over funds, the man pounded his hands on the hood of that driver’s vehicle.
An officer was dispatched at 2:18 p.m. after 911 callers reported the accused beggar.
A woman caller reported he pulled down his pants and exposed his privates when she refused to give him money. “Kiss it,” he is quoted as saying.
In general, dropping one’s pants and soliciting smooches could be considered a poor strategy when seeking economic assistance from strangers.
The affidavit did not state whether begging for forgiveness, begging to differ or begging your pardon were involved.
Wilcox was arrested on misdemeanor charges of disturbing the peace and panhandling/begging.
