Swedish police said that a drunk woman falsely claimed to having committed a murder in an attempt to get a free ride home.
The 50-year-old woman, whose name was not released, called police after a night of heavy drinking in Gothenburg and said she had committed a murder and wanted to turn herself in.

The woman admitted to her ruse when police arrived, telling them she was just trying to get a free ride home. Officers took her to a local detox center instead.
The woman, who was fined $244 for wasting police resources, is facing trial on a charge of making a false alarm to police.
Prosecutors are seeking a $285 fine for the charge.
