A man from New York has been accused of a bizarre scam in which he dressed up like his dead mother for six years in order to steal $115,000 in benefits. He is appearing in court this week.
On Tuesday, jurors will be shown a screening of Thomas Prusik-Parkin, 53, carrying off his extraordinary act.

To pull off his pretense the defendant donned a wig, wore heavy make-up, his mother’s dresses and used a cane, claim prosecutors.
Thomas Prusik-Parkin is accused of collecting more than $115,000 on his mother Irene Prusik’s government benefits and rent subsidies for six years following her death in 2003.
