A misbehaving bar patron in Ontario picked the wrong vehicle to try to escape custody early Sunday morning.

Brockville police said that a man being escorted by police out of a bar at about 12:45 a.m. on Sunday took off on foot and jumped into the back of a nearby car, ordering the driver to “get out of here.”

“Unfortunately for him, he jumped into an unmarked police car,” Sgt. Surinder Gill said.

Police said the suspect did not attempt another escape after he was in the cruiser. By then, the other officers had arrived and the suspect realized he was not getting away, Gill said.

Cary Patrick Cleyndert, 29, was arrested.
