Brandi Tomko, 35, faces a 33 criminal charges in Ohio after practicing for much of 2011 as a veternarian without a license or any qualifications to do so.
Tomko “treated” an unknown number of animals and at least two pets, a cat and a dog, have been known to have died due to botched operations in the Cuyahoga Falls facility.
Holly Denavich discovered Tomko was a fraud last May when she took her Yorkie terrier mix to C&D Veterinary Hospital for treatment.
Denavich described her interactions with Tomko as “sketchy” and her suspicions were confirmed when she arrived home and couldn’t find Tomko on the Ohio Veterinarians Board web site.
She returned to C&D, received a refund and reported Tomko to the board.
