Ohio police say that a woman under assault got some crucial help from an unexpected source – a darting deer.
Oxford Police say that a man was choking the woman with her purse straps and punching her in the forehead. Suddenly a deer jumped up and raced past which scared the attacker away.
Sgt. Jon Varley said that the incident happened early on Sunday after the woman had left a party. He tells The Cincinnati Enquirer he can’t recall anything similar in his 17-year career.
He says that the woman suffered red marks and bruises but didn’t require medical treatment. None of her property was taken when the man ran away.
