Police say that a Nevada pizza delivery driver came up with a cunning plan when she made up a story that she was robbed.
Keri Rush was so convincing in her story that she included detailed descriptions that led to composite sketches of two men.
Rush claimed two black men approached her, demanded money and ran off.
She described the two in detail – including their height, weight and clothing – and police released sketches of the men to the public.
Nye County Sheriff’s Detective David Boruchowitz says the 27-year-old was arrested after an investigation of her report that she was robbed after a pizza delivery in Pahrump, about 60 miles west of Las Vegas.
On Tuesday, Rush was jailed on suspicion of malicious prosecution and false reporting of a crime.
Detectives say that after conducting interviews and searches, they determined she stole the money to pay a drug debt.
It wasn’t immediately known if Rush had an attorney.
